Our speakers for May were:

Carol Morris is a Victim Assistance Specialist with Homeland Security Investigations. She has a background in trauma and grief and was previously the Victim-Witness Coordinator at the U.S. Attorney‚§s Office in Denver and in Indianapolis. At HSI, her caseload is mostly comprised of child exploitation cases, financial crime and human trafficking investigations in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Montana.

Kristen Heiman is a Special Agent with HSI and has been since 2002. She is currently assigned to the Smuggling/Public Safety Investigations Group in the Denver, Colorado office.

Louis Nigro is the Smuggling/Public Safety Group Supervisor which oversees narcotics, gangs and human trafficking investigations in the Denver, Colorado office. He has been in that position since 2006. He has been a law enforcement officer since 1988 when he entered on duty with the U.S. Border Patrol in San Diego sector. In 1997 he transferred to INS investigations and worked as part of the Anti-Smuggling Supervisor and spent four years at the Law Enforcement Support Center in Williston, Vermont.

They gave an overview of what HSI does and how they are involved in HT investigations.
