March 2014 - Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, March 11, 2014
5:30 - 7:00 pm

First United Methodist Church, Room 21, Basement
420 N Nevada Ave.
Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Our guest speaker was Rich Mitchell, CEO of PIER Institute, a social enterprise that equips U.S. companies to pursue business objectives (i.e., profit) while at the same time alleviating poverty and stopping human trafficking. PIER is often described as a private sector model of foreign aid. Its new program, Verifica, stopped a case of human trafficking last year in Colombia. In 2014 PIER is rolling out a corporate program to tackle trafficking connected to global business travel. Rich has 16 years’ experience as a business attorney and serves as adjunct faculty at Colorado Heights University. He lives part-time in Colombia.

Our meetings are open to organizations and individuals who are interested in stopping
