May 2016 - Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, May 10, 2016
5:30 - 7:00 pm

First United Methodist Church, Room 21, Basement
420 N Nevada Ave.
Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Our guest speaker was Kristy, the interim Advocacy Manager at TESSA.

TESSA's mission is to help women and their children achieve safety and wellbeing while challenging communities to end sexual and family violence. Since 1977, TESSA has been a resource providing a depth of services to victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in the Pikes Peak region. Today, TESSA has evolved into a multi-faceted agency that includes a confidential Safehouse, Victim Advocacy, Counseling and Children's Programs, a 24/7 Crisis Line, Rural Advocacy and Community Outreach and Education. Through these efforts, TESSA strives to realize our vision of a safe community free of personal violence for all.

Needed Support for all Survivors:
Accessibility to support services for survivors is paramount and for those ready to start new lives, the simplest things can mean the most. You can give someone the opportunity to get life-changing help or change their life by donating:
  • Baby Wipes
  • Gas Cards
  • Bus Passes
  • Used or New Cell Phones
  • Grocery Cards
Please note that TESSA typically does not accept clothing donations due to storage limitations and partnerships with other regional organizations who can provide clothing free to TESSA's clients.

Our meetings are open to organizations and individuals who are interested in stopping
Modern Day Slavery, especially in our community.
