July 2016 - Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, July 12, 2016
5:30 - 7:00 pm

First United Methodist Church, Room 21, Basement
420 N Nevada Ave.
Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Our guest speaker was Heidi Ganahi.

In 2014, Heidi launched the non-profit Moms Fight Back, a community of nearly 40,000 powerful and passionate Colorado moms who are banding together, online and in their neighborhoods, to tackle the most pressing issues facing kids today.

Moms Fight Back is currently focusing efforts on four vital issues: teen sexual assault, school safety, family court reform and the impact of marijuana on youth. Through targeted project work, MFB addresses each issue in the context of how it impacts a child's life at home, at school as well as in the legislative and judicial systems.

Moms Fight Back is committed to building a community of 100,000 Colorado moms by 2018 with the belief that it is paramount to give moms the opportunity, and forum, to learn and discuss how legislators, community leaders, and local non-profits can come together to best support Colorado moms as they care for their families.

Moms Fight Back is currently hosting The Colorado Moms Tour, a series of free, live public discussions, held throughout Colorado. At each tour stop a panel of experts and community leaders educate and answer questions on the topics moms are most concerned about; issues like school safety, sexual assault, substance abuse, teen suicide, internet safety, bullying, and more.
