November 2016 - Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, November 8, 2016
5:30 - 7:00 pm

First United Methodist Church, Room 21, Basement
420 N Nevada Ave.
Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Our guest speaker was Natasha Hurt with Love Made Claim. Natasha, a native Coloradoan and Founder/Executive Director of Love Made Claim, Inc., graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with an undergraduate degree in Journalism and a minor in History in 2001. She worked for the High Plains Library District for close to 10 years, in both Circulation and Technical Services. The beginning of 2011 saw Natasha switch gears as she left the library district and followed her passion for social justice by going on a four countries, four months trip with Adventures in Missions, specifically geared towards working with women caught in oppressive situations around the world. Upon returning, Natasha, along with a friend, began delivering gift bags to women working in strip clubs with the hopes of fostering positive and supportive relationships. Natasha left for six months at the start of 2012 to attend the G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain, followed by a four-month internship with Beauty From Ashes Ministries in Ft. Myers, Florida, all in preparation to officially begin Love Made Claim, Inc. in 2013. When shes not working, Natasha loves going to movies, playing drums on worship teams, attending Colorado Rockies baseball games and drinking coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
