February 2017 - Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, February 14, 2017
5:30 - 7:00 pm

First United Methodist Church, Room 21, Basement
420 N Nevada Ave.
Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Our guest speakers were Cate Bowman, of the Colorado Governor's Council on Human Trafficking who gave a brief update from the Council and Cindy Smallidge who gave a presentation representing a relatively new organization, PATH, that helps bring residential opportunities to the homeless or those vulnerable to homelessness.
Cindy Smallidge was born in Cripple Creek, Colorado. At a young age she moved to Colorado Springs due to her father receiving a job with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Cindy graduated from Coronado High School, got married and began raising children shortly thereafter.
After Cindy's children graduated she became active in a food ministry through her local church. In 2008 she began volunteering for the Marian House in downtown Colorado Springs. Cindy's passion for people continued to grow and in July of 2015 she and two other friends started the grass roots organization known as Peoples Access To Homes (PATH).
PATH saw the need for more affordable housing and the lack of knowledge city wide on this matter. PATH has put together an education tool that will allow for more awareness of the crisis that many families are experiencing today in Colorado Springs.
