Our guest speaker was Cate Bowman

As Human Trafficking Program Coordinator for the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice, Cate Bowman helps to oversee the activities of the Colorado Human Trafficking Council (CHTC). In this capacity, she has facilitated various task forces, including CHTC's Data and Research and Labor Trafficking Task Force. Cate has been working on the issue of human trafficking much of her career. She provided direct services to international survivors of human trafficking as an intensive case manager with Safe Horizon, a New York City community-based crime victim agency. More recently, she worked with Colorado Legal Services as a human trafficking paralegal and outreach provider.

Apart from her work with the State, Cate recently completed her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Colorado. Her research is focused on immigration and labor issues.

Cate provided a summary of the 2018 CHTC Annual Report and discussed 2019 priorities for the Council.

                    Our meetings are open to organizations and individuals who are interested in stopping
                    Modern Day Slavery, especially in our community.
