Our guest speakers were Lindy Havens and State Representative Terri Carver

Lindy Havens is the Executive Director of Restore Innocence. Previously, she served as the organization’s Mentor Director and she’s also had the privilege of mentoring a courageous survivor. She is a member of the El Paso County anti-trafficking coalition.

Lindy lived in Cambodia for the year of 2006, working with young victims of trafficking at an acute aftercare center with World Hope International. She also served for 11 years on staff with Focus on the Family. She has published articles and participated in a national radio interview on the issue of trafficking.

Lindy's husband, Nate, is a licensed professional counselor. They have two children, Ashley and Zach.

State Representative Terri Carver was elected to the State House of Representatives in 2014 to represent House District 20. The district covers El Paso County west of I-25 from the Douglas County line to Fort Carson but does not include most of Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, and Monument. She currently serves on the Transportation and Energy Committee and the Judiciary Committee.

Prior to being elected, Terri was a Civilian Attorney for Air Force Space Command, a JAG (lawyer) in the Air Force Reserves and a college instructor on energy development and environmental law and space law and policy. She retired from the Air Force Reserves with the rank of Colonel.

Terri is an active volunteer in the Colorado Springs Community. She has volunteered for The Home Front Cares and as a teacher liaison with the Space Foundation. She previously served as Chair of the Colorado Springs Utilities Policy Advisory Committee and a member of the Colorado Springs Telecommunication Policy Advisory Committee.

                    Modern Day Slavery, especially in our community.
